Beginnings

I've been mentally designing wings for myself since I was a teen.  The earliest sketch I have of wings for myself is in a notebook I carried with me to the UK as a boy in 1978. I was working on air or hydraulic artificial muscles in the wee hours of those days, while learning mechanical design, and this was the first time I can remember taking the actuator of the day to the wings in my dreams.
